Corte Alla Flora, Brunello di Montalcino 2018
Corte Alla Flora, Brunello di Montalcino 2018
Tasting Notes
-
Appearance: Deep ruby to garnet with clear edges.
-
Nose: Concentrated aromas of black cherry, dried cranberry, and ripe plum layered with cedar, licorice, sweet tobacco, and a hint of leather. Subtle floral lift of violet and a trace of balsamic herb.
-
Palate: Full-bodied and structured, showing plush dark-fruit core balanced by firm, refined tannins and bright acidity. Flavors echo black cherry and plum with baking spice, earthy sous-bois, and a persistent mineral streak. Long, savory finish with tobacco and leather nuances.
Winemaking & Vineyard
-
Grape: 100% Sangiovese (Brunello clone).
-
Region: Montalcino, Tuscany.
-
Vintage: 2018 — a classically balanced year that produced wines with ripe fruit, tension, and aging potential.
-
Aging: Extended oak maturation (large Slavonian casks and select French barriques), followed by bottle aging before release to harmonize tannins and aromatics.
Food Pairing
-
Pairs exceptionally well with braised beef, roasted lamb, game birds, aged Pecorino Toscano, and mushroom risotto.
-
Also excellent with charcuterie selections featuring soppressata, prosciutto, and aged hard cheeses.
