Bodegas Volver Triga 2019
Region: Jumilla, Spain Grape: 100% Monastrell
Alcohol:16%
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Deep, opaque ruby with garnet edges.
Nose: Intense and expressive — ripe blackberries, plum, and dark cherry layered with dried herbs, smoked graphite, and subtle floral lift. Hints of roasted coffee, cocoa, and a touch of leather from careful oak integration.
Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, showing plush dark fruit flavors (black plum, blackberry compote) balanced by firm but ripe tannins. The wine’s natural spice and earthy minerality provide structure; peppery and cocoa-tinged notes linger alongside a saline finish. Good freshness for the variety thanks to balanced acidity.
Finish: Long, savory, with lingering dark fruit and spice.
Food Pairing
Works beautifully with hearty fare: grilled lamb, braised beef, roasted game, and rich stews.
Complements aged hard cheeses like Manchego, Pecorino, or aged Gouda.
Also excellent with charcuterie, mushroom dishes, and smoked meats.
Serve
Temperature: 60–65°F
Decant 30–60 minutes for best expression; longer if aged or if tannins feel closed.
